What counts as an HVAC emergency?

Not every problem needs a middle-of-the-night visit, but some really can't wait. Call us right away if you're dealing with any of these:

AC out in Florida heat

No cooling on a hot day can get dangerous fast, especially for older adults, infants, pets or anyone with a medical condition. If someone shows signs of heat illness, call 911 first.

Water leaking or an overflowing drain pan

Water around the indoor unit, a full or overflowing drain pan, or water coming through a ceiling can damage your home quickly. It's often a clogged condensate drain.

Burning smell or smoke

A strong burning or electrical smell, smoke or scorched wiring from any part of the system. Turn the system off and call us. If you see flames or heavy smoke, get out and call 911.

Ice on the lines or coil

Frost or ice on the refrigerant lines or indoor coil means the system can't cool, and running it that way can damage the compressor.

Breaker keeps tripping

A breaker that trips again after one reset points to an electrical problem that needs a professional. Leave it off.

Loud grinding, banging or screeching

Sudden loud noises from the indoor or outdoor unit can mean a failing motor, fan or compressor. Shutting it off early can prevent more damage.

No heat on a cold night

Central Florida cold snaps are short, but no heat on a near-freezing night is hard on young children, older adults and pets. We repair heat pumps and gas furnaces.

Commercial cooler or freezer failure

A walk-in, reach-in, ice machine or display case that won't hold temperature puts your product and your business at risk every hour.

What to do while you wait

These simple, safe steps can limit damage and sometimes even get you cooling again. Only do what you're comfortable with.

  1. Burning smell or smoke? Turn the system off at the thermostat right away, and switch off its breaker if you can reach the panel safely. Don't turn it back on until it's been checked.
  2. Check the thermostat once. Make sure it's set to Cool (or Heat), the set temperature is below (or above) the room temperature, and the screen isn't blank. Replace the batteries if it uses them.
  3. Check the breakers once. If the indoor or outdoor breaker is tripped, switch it fully off and back on one time. If it trips again, leave it off and tell us when you call.
  4. Water leaking? Shut the unit off at the thermostat to stop making more water, move valuables out of the way and use towels or a wet/dry vac on the floor. Our FAQ explains how to clear a drain line safely.
  5. Ice on the lines? Turn cooling off and set the fan to On so it can thaw. Don't chip at the ice, and keep towels handy for the meltwater.
  6. Keep cool (or warm). Close blinds on the sunny side, run ceiling fans, drink water and move vulnerable family members and pets to the most comfortable room, or somewhere with working AC.
  7. Commercial cooler or freezer down? Keep the doors closed as much as possible, move the most perishable product to another working unit if you have one, and note the temperature reading so you can tell us.

How emergency service works

Straightforward, from the first call to the finished repair.

Step 1: Call us, any time

Call (407) 452-9107, day or night. We answer 24/7, and you'll talk with a local, licensed technician who knows these systems.

Step 2: Quick triage on the phone

Tell us what's happening. We'll ask a few questions, help with any safe checks, and sometimes we can solve it over the phone. If not, we'll let you know honestly how soon we can get there.

Step 3: We dispatch a technician

We send a licensed, insured technician to your home or business with the tools to test the system and find the real cause instead of guessing.

Step 4: Upfront price before any work

We explain what's wrong in plain language and give you the price before the repair starts. No surprise charges and no upselling. You decide.

Most emergencies don't come out of nowhere. Clogged drains, dirty coils and worn capacitors give warning signs long before they fail on the hottest night of the year. Common questions

Do you really answer 24/7?

Yes. We answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights and weekends. Call (407) 452-9107 any time.

How soon can a technician get to me?

It depends on the time of day, where you are and how many calls are ahead of you, so we don't promise a set arrival time. When you call, we'll give you an honest estimate and keep you updated.

How much does emergency HVAC service cost?

Every job is different, so we diagnose the problem first and give you the price before any repair starts. After-hours visits may include a dispatch fee, and we'll tell you about it when you call, before anyone is sent out.

Is a broken AC an emergency in Florida?

It can be. In Central Florida heat, a home can get dangerously hot, especially for older adults, infants, pets and anyone with a medical condition. If someone shows signs of heat illness, call 911 first, then call us.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Leave the building right away without using light switches or anything that could spark, and call your gas utility's emergency line or 911 from outside. Don't go back in until they say it's safe. Once the gas utility has cleared it, we can inspect and repair your gas furnace and the rest of your heating and cooling system.

Do you handle commercial refrigeration emergencies?

Yes. We repair walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, soft-serve and slushie machines, display cases and rooftop units 24/7. Keep the doors closed and call (407) 452-9107 right away.

“Just wanted to give a big shoutout to Jonathan from Master Mechanical! He replaced the AC unit at my rental, and I couldn't be happier. Great price, top-notch work, and he even offered a payment plan—which I truly appreciated. The new unit looks and works perfectly. Highly recommend him if you need a reliable and fair AC Tech!”

★★★★★

“These guys especially Jonathan are the most helpful and trustworthy people I've encountered in Orlando for home service. How many places walk thru some troubleshooting over the phone. They will be my sole hvac contractor now. The rest of the places are not independent and corporate buy outs with a different name. Give these guys a shot.”
